DryEyeCircle

Privacy Policy

How DryEyeCircle handles information.

This policy explains how we collect and use information from clinic listings, surveys, treatment experiences, community signups, and other platform features.

Effective date: June 18, 2026

What we collect

Depending on how you use DryEyeCircle, we may collect survey answers, treatment experience submissions, clinic suggestions, listing claims, suggested listing changes, community waitlist signups, email addresses, optional names or display names, general location information, and technical analytics data such as pages visited, device type, and approximate location.

Health-related experiences

Survey answers and treatment experience submissions may include health-related information you choose to share. Please do not submit medical records, insurance numbers, government IDs, full dates of birth, or details you would not want reviewed by DryEyeCircle moderators.

Treatment stories and publication consent

If you share a written treatment experience, it is private by default while under review. We only publish written experiences when you give publication consent and an admin approves the submission. If published, your email is not shown publicly. Your optional display name may be shown if you provide one.

Clinic directory information

Clinic listings may include publicly available clinic information, clinic website source links, community-submitted clinic details, and manually reviewed updates. If you submit, claim, or suggest changes to a clinic listing, we collect the information needed to review and process that request.

Email and community waitlist

If you provide an email address, we may use it to send community invites, follow up about a submission, confirm listing or clinic information, send occasional platform updates, or connect related survey submissions when you ask us to. You can unsubscribe from non-transactional emails.

How we use information

We use information to operate the site, moderate submissions, publish approved community content, maintain clinic listings, build aggregate insights, improve the user experience, prevent abuse, send requested emails, and understand how the platform is used.

Analytics, cookies, and local storage

We use basic analytics tools to understand site usage and improve performance. We may also use local storage in your browser to remember survey-related state or whether you submitted a clinic request. We do not use advertising pixels for targeted medical advertising.

Service providers

We use third-party service providers to host the site, store data, send emails, provide authentication, and measure analytics. These providers may process information on our behalf. Current examples include Supabase, Vercel, Google Analytics, and email delivery providers such as Resend.

What we do not do

We do not sell or rent personal information. We do not provide medical diagnosis, build individual medical profiles for treatment decisions, or use submissions for targeted medical advertising.

Public and aggregate information

We may publish aggregate survey or treatment experience trends, approved written experiences, and approved clinic listing information. Aggregates are based on self-selected community submissions and are not clinical evidence.

Data retention

We keep information as long as needed to operate DryEyeCircle, moderate content, preserve directory quality, maintain aggregate insights, comply with legal obligations, and prevent abuse. We may retain aggregated or de-identified information for longer-term trend analysis.

Your choices

You can choose not to provide optional information such as email or display name. You may contact us to ask about accessing, correcting, or deleting personal information you provided. Some approved or aggregate content may be retained where removal would affect platform integrity, legal obligations, or abuse prevention.

Security

We use reasonable safeguards to protect information, but no internet service can guarantee perfect security. Please avoid submitting highly sensitive personal, financial, or medical details in free-text fields.

Children

DryEyeCircle is intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child submitted personal information, contact us so we can review it.

International access

DryEyeCircle may be accessed from different countries, and service providers may process data in countries other than where you live. By using the site, you understand that information may be processed where our providers operate.

Policy updates

We may update this Privacy Policy as DryEyeCircle evolves. When we do, we will revise the effective date on this page.
